I’m Still Here

I thought I’d tell you all that I am still on planet earth (but you would have a hard time locating me at any given moment). I just calculated that between February 12 and March 12 I will be gone 21 out of 29 days. Don’t worry, after that, I will start writing and posting again.
Up until a few days ago I had been looking forward to posting the video that some of you requested of my speech Loving my wife…today! However, some wise people recently advised me that, since I perform this speech regularly for competition, it could be an unfair advantage for me if my speech was seen online by anyone who is going to judge me. Because of this, I’ve decided to postpone posting the video until after the tournament season is over. Thank you all for your understanding.
I'll be in touch real soon.
In All Purity, Ben

I'm hoping your family has a safe trip today, as well as all the others traveling to the competition. I've heard your speeches are going really well - praise God and great job! May you continue to compete well for God's glory.

It makes sense to postpone posting the video; I hadn't thought of the fact that it may not be fair since you're currently competing with it.

That's absolutely fine, Ben. Good luck with the tournament and let us know how it goes!

I completely understand. :) I don't know why anybody would judge you. I don't understand those people who try to find some fault with everything you say. I think that is very unfair. Just know that there are people out there who agree with you, and think you are a great encouragment.

Ben,
I saw you at the Cleveland tournament. You did a fantastic job and were a real blessing. Here is the link to Ellerslie (Eric Ludy's discipleship training)that we spoke about. http://setapartlife.com/SAL_Home.html
I pray God's richest blessings on you and your endeavors.

Mr. Simon:
I have tried to locate you via Mead Vest, in Cleveland, TN. The purpose of my quest is to see if you were a local (to Cleveland, that is) and were able to do at least one speaking engagement. I can't tell you how impressed I was by your Dramatic interp. performance at the foresics competition in Cleveland. I believe it was "The Room." You're a very apt speaker and performer. I was one of the judges that was sucked into the "room" you were speaking about. If you're ever in the Cleveland area again, I wish to book you for a performance to our Awana club and maybe our Optimist Club in Athens. Best wishes. Tim Wilson

Camille-
I can always use the reminder that there are people who appreciate what I'm trying to say. Although I have run into quite a few ill-meaning "judgers" lately, they are not the ones keeping me from posting those videos. The judges I was refering to are the adults who grade my speeches at these tournaments I attend. My parents advised me that it would be unfair if someone saw a video of a speech on my blog and then happened to be a judge at a speech tournament. That's why I won't post those videos until the end of the tournament season. Other than that, I won't let any other "judges" keep me from posting (Lord willing) :-).

Mr. Wilson-
It's really great to hear your encouragement about the Dramatic Inerp. I'm planning to post a video of The Room on this blog as soon as the Speech season is over.
Sadly I don't live in Tennessee. I live in Montgomery, AL. This is the second year in a row that I've been in Cleveland for a tournament, and we may return next year. If you want to give me your email address I would be more than happy to try to schedule with you next time that I'm in the area. I'll jump at the chance of any speaking engagement:-)
Thanks for taking the time to find me. I'm curious to know how Mrs. Vest knew to point you to this website.

Thanks again, Ben

Chrystianna-
That tournament went really well. I recieved high marks in both The Room (the one you saw me give in Montgomery) and my Wife speech.
